Personally, I’m very happy to give it — especially as it’s one of the things that I did in my younger years and it’s something that I still advise clients, and even our staff, to consider. WebYou make a $5,000 voluntary payment. Indexation only applies to $15,000 (win!) BUT you don’t get that $5K back. When you complete your tax return the $10,000 is applied as planned, and you have a $5,000 (plus that indexation) balance remaining for the following year.
