Web8 dec. 2016 · Active Jeeper. Dec 7, 2016. #1. I just completed my Howell TBI upgrade on my 83 CJ-7 AMC 258 ci with Duraspark ignition and Juice Pack dizzy cap/coil/plug wire upgrade. The problem is that apparently I have no tach signal coming from the negative side of the E-Core ignition coil to tell the electric fuel pump to pump while cranking the engine. The green wire at the distributor connects to the green wire (may have a black stripe) that was once hooked to the coil. The green wire that was once hooked to the coil is the signal wire to the tach. Web27 okt. 2024 · No idea how many grounds. Assume every Howell harness is a bit different (mine was on a Jeep 4.2L). I would assume a bad FPR could cause stumbling but really depends on how its failing. The TBI setup has a diaphragm and spring that reacts to vacuum pressure if I remember correctly.
